The Wiener Städtische Image Film

A story about worries, trust, and real people

How real worry lines became the starting point of an emotional corporate film

The Creative Idea Behind the Film
At the beginning of the film, the camera moves very close to people. Extreme close-ups reveal faces, glances, and small movements. As the camera slowly zooms in, the fine lines around the eyes and forehead become visible – the very lines that appear when people worry, reflect, or lie awake at night. Behind each of these lines is a personal story.
It might be the question of financial security in retirement. It might be the sleepless nights of young parents. Or the moment when an unexpected bill or damage to one’s home suddenly turns everything upside down.
The film deliberately portrays these moments in a very intimate and minimalistic way. There is no grand staging – the focus is entirely on emotion and identification.
Because worries are something deeply human. And that is exactly why everyone immediately understands what the story is about.
After this emotional introduction, the perspective of the film slowly shifts. The camera moves away from the worries of the people and turns toward those who listen.
We see a Wiener Städtische employee in close-up. She gently moves a strand of hair behind her ear – a small but intentional visual detail. Because the central message of the film is simple: understanding begins with listening.
And at Wiener Städtische, there are many people who do exactly that. In fact, around 8,000 employees across Austria listen, advise, and help find solutions every single day.
In the film, we made a conscious decision to feature these people as they truly are – not actors, but real employees of Wiener Städtische. This was an important creative choice during the concept phase of the project. We didn’t want staged characters, but the people who represent the company in their daily work.
This authenticity gives the film a special credibility.
Filming Across Austria

To bring these real faces in front of the camera, it was clear to us that we could not film in just one location. Instead, the production took us on a journey across Austria.Filming took place in all nine federal states – at each of the nine regional headquarters of Wiener Städtische. This allowed us to capture employees from many different regions and show the diversity of the company.
Traveling across the country not only made the film more authentic, but also more personal. Each regional office has its own atmosphere, and it was important for us to reflect this diversity on screen. For our small film crew, however, this also meant an intense production phase.
A team of four people spent several days on the road, planning routes across the country, organizing travel schedules, coordinating filming appointments with the individual locations, and managing hotels, transportation, and equipment.Behind a corporate film that ultimately lasts only a few minutes, there is often far more planning than one might expect.

Shooting schedules had to be carefully coordinated to ensure that there was enough time at each location to capture genuine interactions while still keeping up with a tight production timeline. It is precisely this combination of organization and creativity that makes nationwide or international film productions so exciting. As the story of the film continues, the perspective gradually opens up and reveals more of the company itself. Today, Wiener Städtische operates in all nine federal states and supports millions of customers across Austria. Yet the film deliberately stays close to the people – to conversations with clients, everyday working situations, and small moments of collaboration between colleagues. It becomes clear that insurance is about much more than numbers or contracts. It is about being there for people when something happens and giving them the security to continue living their lives with confidence. The film also highlights topics such as social responsibility, sustainable initiatives, and affordable housing. These aspects show that a company like Wiener Städtische does not only act economically, but also takes responsibility for society.

From Worry Lines to Smiles
At the end, the story comes full circle.
While the film begins with extreme close-ups of worry lines, the visual language gradually changes. The camera slowly pulls back, and tense expressions transform into relaxed, smiling faces.
Worry lines become smile lines.
It is a quiet but powerful conclusion to the story of the film. Because it shows what insurance can achieve at its best: taking away worries, providing security, and giving people a sense of peace of mind.
With this thought, the film ends with a shared message from the entire Wiener Städtische team:

„Ihre Sorgen möchten wir haben.“
