With the planning comes a significant logistical effort. Cameras, lenses, drones, audio and lighting equipment must be prepared, packed and made ready for air travel. For certain countries, we apply for a Carnet to ensure our equipment can pass through customs smoothly.
Flights, hotels, local transportation and filming permits all need to be organized—always in close coordination with our contacts at MSC Cargo, both globally and locally. Based on the experience from the first productions, we also created a 30-page shooting guide. This document defines exactly how our video productions are executed worldwide: the visual language, essential scenes, and the overall structure of an MSC Cargo corporate film. It ensures that every film follows a consistent visual identity—whether we shoot it ourselves or collaborate with local production teams working according to our guidelines.
The shoots themselves are always a mix of precision, improvisation and adventure.
Typically, we travel with a small, well-coordinated three-person crew and spend around three shooting days per country, plus one day each for arrival and departure. Within this short time frame, we aim to capture as many aspects of the location as possible: terminals, container operations, transport processes, infrastructure—and of course the people who make it possible for thousands of goods to move around the world every day. So far, the project has already taken us to the United Kingdom, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Chile, Belgium, Germany, France and Spain. Many more countries are currently in planning or already in production, including several locations across Asia.
Every location has its own rhythm, atmosphere and challenges. While one week we might be filming in a highly automated European port, a few weeks later we could be working in the intense heat of a Middle Eastern terminal or documenting logistics operations in South America.

From raw footage to the final corporate film
After filming, the second major phase of our work begins: post-production. First, all video material is securely backed up and archived. Then the creative editing process starts. From many hours of raw footage, the final corporate film gradually takes shape. Through color grading, music and sound design, we give the visuals their final tone and atmosphere until individual scenes become a coherent story. Throughout the entire process, we remain in close contact with both the global and local MSC Cargo teams to ensure the film is not only visually compelling but also communicates exactly the right message.
International film production with a Viennese signature
For us, this project is far more than a typical video production. It is an ongoing journey through different countries, cultures and working environments. This combination of planning, creativity, organization and international filming is exactly what makes our work as a Vienna-based film production company so exciting. And every new country brings new perspectives, new stories and new challenges. When the final film authentically showcases the work of MSC Cargo while telling a strong visual story, we know that all the effort behind the camera was worth it.
